Trina Padilla de Sanz: A Woman Before Her Time

Portrait-PadillaWithBook.gif

The exhibit showcases selected writings by Trinidad (Trina) Padilla de Sanz, a Puerto Rican poet and writer. The writings span the first half of the twentieth century and cover topics relating to Puerto Rico, women's issues, and various social causes. The goal of this exhibit is to highlight Padilla's accomplishments as an activist fighting for progress and change in society.  With a keen eye and a sharp pen, Padilla served as a guiding voice on the pressing social, political, and cultural topics of her era. While the resources are in Spanish, the exhibit features significant, translated quotations to convey the overarching meaning of Padilla's writings.
